Boston Children’s Hospital received initial court approval for a $3 million settlement aimed at resolving a proposed class action by workers who say their retirement plan pays excessive fees for administrative services.
The deal is slated to benefit more than 20,000 people covered by the hospital’s retirement plan since January 2016. Judge Julia E. Kobick signed the preliminary approval order and scheduled a Sept. 29 fairness hearing in orders issued May 12 in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
