Blue Cross, Humana to Offer Medicare Patients a Lyft

Ride-share giant Lyft will add more new users to its app-based car-hailing service this year: seniors in Medicare Advantage plans.

Lyft Feb. 7 announced it would expand its existing partnerships with the Blue Cross Blue Shield Institute and health-care transportation company LogistiCare to offer non-emergency medical transportation benefits to seniors in certain Medicare Advantage plans. The partnership with LogistiCare will also provide services to Humana Medicare Advantage plans.

The company’s announcement comes after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in April 2018 loosened restrictions on what could be included as a benefit in managed Medicare plans, which may have ...
