Big Law Partner With Migraines Beats Unum in Disability Pay Suit

A litigation partner with Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP won her lawsuit seeking disability benefits from Unum Life Insurance Co. of America on account of chronic migraines, brain fog, and vertigo.

The attorney established that her symptoms, which are partially caused by a pituitary gland cyst, were disabling in a way that prevented her from performing her job as a litigator and law firm partner, Judge Rita F. Lin said.
