Beacon Health Beats Suit Over $75,000 Mental Health Treatment

Beacon Health Options defeated a family’s $75,000 lawsuit seeking coverage for their son’s 11-month stay at a residential mental health treatment center, after a federal judge in Utah upheld the insurer’s conclusions about the level of care provided by the center.

Beacon reasonably declined to cover the teen’s stay at Catalyst Residential Treatment Center based on its determination that Catalyst didn’t provide the level of care associated with a residential treatment center, Judge Jill N.
