Banner Health mismanaged a voluntary benefits program providing its employees with accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance coverage, four current and former employees alleged in a proposed class complaint.
The Arizona healthcare organization’s failure to properly monitor and negotiate the program forced workers to pay excessive premiums in violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, according to the complaint.
The Tuesday lawsuit, filed by Schlichter Bogard LLC in the US District Court for the District of Arizona, follows an April lawsuit bringing similar claims against Banner, filed by the Seattle-based Keller Rohrback LLP.
