Enrolling employees automatically in retirement savings plans will be a top priority in the next House tax package, a Democratic aide said May 10.
It would be the second retirement-related bill on the House agenda this year. The House Ways and Means Committee has already passed the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act (H.R. 1994). During the markup in April, Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) said he and ranking member Kevin Brady (R-Texas) want to report out a second bipartisan retirement bill before August.
