Anthem Settles With Owens & Minor Over Handling of Health Claims

Health-care logistics company Owens & Minor Inc. settled its lawsuit accusing Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield of mismanaging its employees’ health plan by overpaying for claims, securing kickbacks, and improperly pocketing rebates.

The parties reached a confidential settlement after private mediation, and they plan to file paperwork to have the case dismissed, they told Judge Robert E. Payne in a status report filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
