Anthem Launches Subsidiaries Carelon, Wellpoint Under Elevance

Anthem is launching subsidiaries Carelon and Wellpoint under Elevance Health, according to a statement.

• Carelon will be a healthcare services brand
• Wellpoint will be a health plan brand unifying Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans in select markets
  • Change will not impact the company’s affiliated Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross health plans
• Launch of subsidiaries will its streamline its brand portfolio and support whole health beyond healthcare, company says
• As previously announced, Anthem will become Elevance Health on June 28
