Allied Universal’s $1.4 Million 401(k) Settlement Gets Thumbs-Up

Universal Services of America LP and Allied Universal Topco LLC received initial approval for a $1.4 million class settlement resolving allegations that they failed to properly rein in their 401(k) plan’s administrative fees.

The deal, which is expected to benefit a class of 53,000 people covered by Allied Universal’s plan since June 2016, represents more than 23% of the case’s total estimated losses. Judge John W. Holcomb granted preliminary approval to the deal and scheduled a Sept. 23, 2026, final approval hearing in an order docketed Monday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
