AK Steel Latest Company Sued Over Retiree Health Benefit Cuts

AK Steel Corp. retirees are taking the company to court in an attempt to stop it from unilaterally modifying vested health-care coverage for retirees and their spouses.

Unless the court intervenes, AK Steel’s actions will cause economic harm to retirees and their spouses, according to lawsuit filed Dec. 28 in federal court in Michigan by four retirees who seek to represent at least 1,200 individuals.
