Aetna, Optum Reach Class Deal in Chiropractor Fee Scheme Lawsuit

Aetna Inc. and OptumHealth Care Solutions Inc. will settle a class action saying they wrongly conspired to charge patients administrative fees disguised as medical expenses.

The parties engaged in nearly a year’s worth of negotiations and have agreed on key terms for a class settlement, they said in a notice filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.
