$1.5M in Pension Benefits Recovered From United Airlines, Hartmarx

The Labor Department and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation recovered nearly $1.5 million in benefits for participants in two terminated pension plans.

The agencies are looking for about 1,200 participants from the terminated plans of United Airlines and clothing manufacturer Hartmarx Corp. Forty of the 1,200 people have been located.

The participants are entitled to a total of $1.5 million in benefits, including their monthly benefits and any back payments they are owed from their age of normal retirement, a PBGC official told Bloomberg BNA.
