Williams College defeated breach of contract and Title IX claims brought by a student who was suspended after the college in Williamstown, Mass., determined he’d engaged in sexual misconduct, under a ruling by a Massachusetts federal court.
The US District Court for the District of Massachusetts ruled that Williams met the student’s reasonable expectations in its handling of the complaint against him, and alleged anti-male bias didn’t affect the outcome of the proceedings. The court granted summary judgment in favor of Williams on all counts Wednesday.
