Santa Rosa Diocese Insurers Appeal Denied Abuse Claimant Probe

Units of CNA Financial Corp., Lloyd’s of London, and other commercial insurers are seeking an appeal of an order denying their requests to investigate a group of Santa Rosa Diocese sex abuse claimants.

The US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California improperly rejected the insurers’ bid to serve formal discovery demands on eight clergy abuse claimants in the diocese’s Chapter 11 case, and the court should allow immediate review of that order, the insurers said March 20.
