Hyundai Gets $2.2 Million Mississippi Rollover Verdict Reversed

Court errors, including the admission of testimony by two experts for a driver and passenger, marred a trial against Hyundai Motor Co. and its U.S. affiliate that resulted in a $2.2 million verdict, the Mississippi Supreme Court ruled.

The lower court also should have allowed Hyundai to cross-examine the passenger on her settlement with the driver after she attributed all fault to Hyundai in her trial testimony, the 5-2 high court ruled Thursday, overturning the verdict.
