The US Conference of Catholic Bishops agreed to stop pursuing a lawsuit claiming the Trump administration unlawfully suspended funds for a refugee resettlement program.
Judge Trevor N. McFadden dismissed the case without prejudice Friday after the bishops moved to voluntarily drop their claims, according to filings in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. The group sued the Department of State in February 2025, alleging that withholding the funds violated the Administrative Procedure Act and undermined the Constitution’s separation of powers.
