Black FCA Worker Agrees to Dismiss Racial Harassment Lawsuit (1)

FCA US LLP and a former employee have voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit alleging race and sex bias and retaliation, according to a Michigan federal court filing.

Tamika Gaines worked as a maintenance supervisor at an FCA assembly plant before she was fired in March 2018. She sued in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, alleging her White, male coworkers referred to her as Harriet Tubman and “that Black bitch” and also bragged about driving out previous Black women from the plant. Gaines also claimed she faced retaliation for reporting the harassment, culminating in her termination.
