50 Cent’s Lawyer Struggles to Sway Court to Default Rapper’s Ex

Rapper 50 Cent seemed unlikely to score a default judgment in a breach-of-contract case against his ex-girlfriend after a panel of New York judges Thursday expressed doubt that she was properly served with notice of the music mogul’s lawsuit.

The rapper’s publishing company, G-Unit Books, sought a ruling in its favor after Shaniqua Tompkins took four months to answer a lawsuit accusing her of breaching her contract with the company by posting videos online detailing her past relationship with 50 Cent, whose legal name is Curtis Jackson.
