Tax writers are back in Washington with stuffed bellies and a to-do list to prepare for next year. Lawmakers sped through renewal of expiring parts of the 2017 tax law in July, averting an expected year-end frenzy. In December they’ll lay the groundwork for January, with deadlines looming.
