Zimmer Sales Reps Get Preliminary OK of $7.3 Million Settlement

A $7.3 million settlement between Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. and more than 240 medical device sales representatives resolving claims that they were misclassified and weren’t reimbursed for business expenses received preliminary approval from a federal judge in California.

The class members will divvy up the money based on biweekly pay periods worked during the relevant period. The average payout is about $336 per biweekly pay period, or $672 per month.

Class counsel requested a roughly $2 million fee award beyond the class settlement, plus about $25,000 in costs.
