Yemeni Immigrants Sue Trump DHS Over Terminated Protections (1)

The Department of Homeland Security violated the Administrative Procedure Act and equal protections under the Fifth Amendment when it terminated temporary protections for more than 2,800 Yemeni immigrants, a lawsuit filed Thursday claims.

The complaint filed in a New York federal court is the latest one of the mounting legal challenges to the Trump administration’s dismantling of Temporary Protected Status, which extends legal status and employment eligibility to foreign nationals when it’s unsafe to return to their home countries. DHS has axed protections shielding more than a million immigrants from 13 countries from deportation.
