XPO May Have Used Unionization Risk to Fire Manager Based on Sex

A jury must decide whether XPO Logistics LLC fired a service center manager in San Diego because she is a woman or instead because her alleged mistreatment of subordinates risked spurring them to unionize the facility, the Southern District of California ruled.

There’s evidence to support a conclusion that Janeanna Dixon was meeting the global transportation and logistics service provider’s expectations for that job role, despite XPO’s evidence to the contrary, the court said in denying part of the company’s attempt at summary judgment.
