The frequency of workers becoming injured or sick while on the job during 2021 was 2.7 cases for every 100 full-time workers, unchanged from 2020, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics said Monday.
Private industry employers reported 2.6 million injuries and illnesses, a decrease of 1.8% from 2021, according to the BLS, an agency of the Department of Labor.
The decline was largely attributed to fewer reported respiratory illnesses, such as Covid-19. Private industry employers reported 365,200 cases in 2021, down from 544,600 in 2020.
