Workplace Affirmative Action Will Stay, Contractor Watchdog Says

A recent US Supreme Court decision on affirmative action in higher education has no impact on workplace diversity programs, according to the acting head of the federal contractor watchdog agency.

There’s a “bright line” between the Supreme Court’s decision and affirmative action in the workplace, Michele Hodge, the acting director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, said at a conference Wednesday.

“The obligations OFCCP enforces are wholly distinct from the affirmative action that was implemented by some schools in their admission process,” she said.
