The EEOC has filed a pregnancy and disability discrimination lawsuit against
The job-assistance companies allegedly knew about an employee’s high-risk pregnancy and associated disabilities, but punished her for pregnancy-related medical absences, didn’t provide disability accommodations, and fired her. Such alleged actions violate Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The agency said it is seeking back pay, compensatory and punitive damages, and injunctive relief.
The case is EEOC v. Res-Care, Inc., D.N.M., No. 1:23-cv-00856, complaint filed 9/29/23
