Servers and bartenders who worked at four Buffalo Wild Wings locations mostly won their tip-related fight against the franchisees that owned the restaurants following a bench trial in Ohio.
The franchisees—Flying S. Wings Inc., Flying Buffalo Inc., and Chase & Green Corp.—didn’t give workers proper notice that they’d be using a tip credit, which ran afoul of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio said. They also failed to pay proper wages for non-tipped side work, the Friday opinion said.
