A former Casas International Brokerage Inc. employee’s sexual harassment and labor violation claims may be subject to arbitration under an agreement she signed after the alleged events, a state appeals court decided Thursday.
Anareli Macias sued her former employer claiming quid pro quo sexual harassment, battery, and violations of labor code provisions, among others. Her former direct supervisor sexually harassed her over a lengthy period of time and retaliated against her when she refused his advances, she alleged. The company had also failed to provide her with meal and rest breaks and accurate wage statements, she said.
