PPE Worker With ‘Viral Symptoms’ Lacks Covid Retaliation Claim

A Florida-based PPE manufacturer for health-care professionals defeated a former employee’s Covid-based retaliation claim with evidence it decided to lay her off before she missed work to quarantine and that her “sick slip” only referenced “viral symptoms,” a federal judge ruled.

Tracey Graham sued Barrier Technologies LLC and owner Marc Glickman after she was terminated on April 16, 2020, the day before she was set to return to work a week after leaving early because she wasn’t feeling well, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida said.
