Work Permits Extended for International Students Facing Hardship

US Citizenship and Immigration Services will extend the duration of work authorization for foreign students on F-1 visas who face financial hardships in their home countries.

Special Student Relief grants F-1 students whose home countries are experiencing natural disaster, military conflict, or other crises authorization to work off-campus while studying at a US college or university.

That relief typically accompanies a designation of Temporary Protected Status for foreign nationals who face unsafe conditions in their home country.
