A Wisconsin state judge has overturned a landmark law that drastically curbed public sector unions and led to a recall effort in 2012 of then-Gov. Scott Walker (R).
The law, known as Act 10, places strict limits on collective bargaining for teachers, bus drivers, and other public employees. A defining victory of the Tea Party era, it was upended Monday by a Dane County judge, who again ruled that the law’s exemption of police and firefighters violated the state constitution.
The ruling will almost certainly be repealed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which flipped to a liberal majority last year. ...
