Freshman Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is using his first budget to roll back many of the anti-collective bargaining initiatives championed by former governor Scott Walker.
Evers’ (D) 2019-2021 Biennial Budget, presented to the Legislature Feb. 28, includes proposals to raise the minimum wage, repeal Wisconsin’s right-to-work law, restore prevailing wage protections, boost project labor agreements, and restore municipalities’ authorities to create wage and benefit ordinances that surpass state standards.
