Wind Turbine Maker Settles with NLRB on Union-Busting Charges

A wind turbine manufacturer in Texas agreed to pay $135,000 to ten workers who were fired or suspended during a union organizing campaign in order to settle a raft of unfair labor practice allegations, the National Labor Relations Board announced May 9.

Gestamp Wind Steel US Inc. will recognize and bargain with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 404 as part of the settlement, the NLRB said. The deal also calls for the company to reinstate eight workers.
