William Beaumont Hospital, which does business as Beaumont Health System, faces an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit after allegedly failing to accommodate an employee with a disability, the EEOC said Thursday.
A nurse at the Wayne, Mich., hospital allegedly wasn’t granted fewer work hours in her then-current position as an accommodation for her medical work restriction, the EEOC said.
Though she asked to be placed in other jobs she believed she was capable of performing within the restriction, the hospital allegedly refused to transfer her. The nurse instead was allegedly forced to apply and compete for openings.
