Whole Foods Workers Appeal Black Lives Matter Mask Ban Dispute

Whole Foods Market Inc. workers who sued for racial discrimination after they say the company instituted a ban on #BlackLivesMatter face masks want a U.S. appellate panel to overturn a lower court decision that dismissed most of their claims.

The workers filed their notice of appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit after a Massachusetts federal judge ruled that the allegations of all 28 lead plaintiffs in the proposed class action didn’t amount to viable race bias claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
