White NYC Principal Loses Suit Alleging Union Drove Her Out

The United Federation of Teachers and four of its officers defeated claims by a White former New York City school principal that they conspired with a group of teachers to replace her with a Black principal.

The ruling Thursday by the US District Court for the Southern District of New York turned in part on the plaintiff’s failure to adequately allege that she had a constitutionally protected property interest in her job. She also didn’t sufficiently describe speech on a matter of public concern in support of her First Amendment retaliation claim, the court said.
