A former HSBC Bank USA program manager filed a lawsuit accusing the company and its chief information officer of firing her after she reported that the bank was providing inaccurate data about its computer security controls to federal regulators.
Alicia Lawrence claims HSBC and Annie Goldman retaliated against her for whistleblowing under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Western District of New York. The lawsuit seeks unspecified compensatory damages, costs and attorney fees.
