Officials from the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division and the minister and consul general of the Embassy of the Philippines signed an agreement Aug. 5 to protect the rights of Philippine nationals working in Florida, DOL announced Aug. 8.
The signatories agreed to inform Philippine workers about laws that WHD enforces, including minimum wage, overtime, and housing and transportation requirements. The agreement was signed by the directors for WHD’s Florida district offices and Ariel Rodelas Penaranda, according to DOL.
