WeWork Opposes Appeal Over N.Y. Ban on Harassment Arbitration

WeWork Cos. says a Black female former executive shouldn’t be allowed to immediately appeal to the Second Circuit whether a recent New York state law blocks her from being forced to arbitrate her race and sex bias claims, according to a filing in federal court in Manhattan.

Ayesha Whyte on July 3 requested the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to certify for rapid review the court’s June 11 ruling that the Federal Arbitration Act preempts New York Civil Practice Law and Rules Section 7515.
