West Virginia lawmakers are advancing a worker classification bill that opponents say makes it easier for employers to avoid providing certain benefits.
The measure, S.B. 528, passed the state Senate on Monday by a margin of 17-16, largely along party lines, with most Republicans voting for and Democrats against the measure. It now heads to the House of Delegates where the GOP holds a 58 to 41 majority.
