A Black branch manager sued Wells Fargo Bank NA in southern California on Monday alleging he experienced persistent racial discrimination at the company and was fired after raising complaints about receiving a lower salary than White employees in his position.

Thomas Taylor III’s complaint, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, said he endured a hostile work environment due to disparate treatment from his supervisor. Thomas alleges his manager made repeated comments about Taylor’s size and race and regularly criticized and diminished Taylor in branch meetings.
