Hoyle Enterprises LLC, doing business as Lady Luck Steakhouse, has agreed to settle a pregnancy discrimination charge brought in Tacoma, Wash., the EEOC announced Tuesday.
Lady Luck allegedly fired a newly-hired pregnant worker after they completed only one shift. The restaurant’s management team also allegedly excluded pregnant workers from working certain “club night” shifts, according to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Such alleged conduct and policies violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The commission in a statement also pointed to the statutory requirement to provide accommodations to employees under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act ...
