Washington Post Firing of Reporter Legal, Labor Board Judge Says

The Washington Post does not have to rehire a former breaking news reporter who criticized colleagues online, after a National Labor Relations Board Judge said her actions were not protected by federal labor law.

NLRB Administrative Law Judge Robert Giannasi said in his decision Monday that Felicia Sonmez’s firing was lawful as her criticism of the news outlet and fellow Post reporter David Weigel did not comprise a protected labor action.
