Washington’s United Medical Center lost its motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a former chief medical officer claiming he was fired for testifying to the city council about the facility’s mismanagement.
The US District Court for the District of Columbia on Sept. 9 mostly denied United’s bid for dismissal of Dr. Julian Craig’s suit claiming retaliation, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract, ruling the facility ineligible for sovereign immunity and finding the allegations he presented sufficient to withstand the motion.
