Walmart Owes Workers Wages for Missed Meal Breaks, Suit Says (1)

Walmart Inc. violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Pennsylvania wage law by failing to compensate thousands of retail employees for missed meal breaks, a lawsuit filed in federal court in Pittsburgh alleges.

The proposed class and collective action was brought by Robert McEnheimer, who worked at a Walmart store in West Mifflin, Pa. He seeks to represent similarly situated employees in a nationwide FLSA collective and Pennsylvania-law class.

“Walmart has strong policies in place to make sure associates receive their appropriate pay and break periods,” company spokeswoman Abby Williams told Bloomberg Law on Monday in response to the filing. ...
