Walmart Charged With Threatening Workers Over Union Activity

Walmart Inc. has been hit with a labor complaint accusing it of illegally interrogating employees about their attempts to unionize a California store.

A National Labor Relations Board regional director issued the complaint Wednesday, alleging that Walmart managers in Eureka, Calif., violated federal labor law by threatening workers over their union activity.

The complaint is one of 21 other unfair labor practice charges pending against the world’s largest retailer. It also charges Walmart with maintaining an illegal handbook policy and tearing up pro-union flyers in the break room in front of workers, according to NLRB spokesperson Kayla Blado.
