Two former Wal-Mart Stores Inc. workers sued the discount retailer, alleging it wouldn’t accommodate them with lighter duties while they were pregnant and calling it part of a pattern of companywide discrimination.
Talisa Borders and Otisha Woolbright are seeking to represent thousands of current and former Wal-Mart workers in a class action. The complaint, filed Friday, alleges that Wal-Mart’s disability policy excludes pregnant workers (Borders v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., S.D. Ill., No. 17-cv-00506, complaint filed 5/12/17).
