Wage-Hour Office Expands Hiring to Combat Record-Low Staffing

The acting head of the US Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division notified regional offices Wednesday that they could hire 25 more investigators nationwide, expanding an earlier announced hiring effort to bolster agency ranks.

Each of the division’s five regional offices will be able to hire an additional five investigators, Jessica Looman, acting administrator of the division, wrote in an email to regional administrators that was reviewed by Bloomberg Law.
