Volkswagen Union Bid Tossed Out by Labor Board (2)

A petition to unionize Volkswagen’s 1,700 workers in Chattanooga, Tenn., must be dismissed, the National Labor Relations Board ruled May 22.

The directive is a setback for the United Auto Workers and means the union will have to refile its representation petition and start the unionizing process from the beginning.

That means new paperwork, a new NLRB regional hearing, and another delay in when a vote might take place.
