Voith Industrial Services Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters received the NLRB’s approval of a $21.6 million deal to settle allegations of labor violations at the company’s Louisville, Ky., Ford Motor Co. plant.
About $14.4 million, the largest portion of the settlement announced Oct. 30, will go to about 257 workers for back pay with interest in payment for Voith allegedly swapping laid-off Teamsters workers with United Auto Workers employees at lower wages in 2011.
