VMware Accused of Hiring Bias Against DACA Recipients (2)

VMware Inc. discriminates against job applicants who aren’t U.S. citizens, green card holders, or who don’t have a transferable visa, a new proposed class action alleges.

The lawsuit, filed April 23 in federal district court in California, accuses the Palo Alto, Calif.-based software company of abruptly terminating a job interview with an immigrant with a work permit through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The permit allows Sandy Vasquez, who holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems and technology, to work nearly anywhere in the U.S.
